CYBER-PHYSICAL SYSTEMS PLATFORM

A multi-expertise offer for innovative cyber-physical interfaces

The cyber-physical systems platform enables industrial partners to develop innovative interfaces between the real world and the digital one to create new products and services, and optimize how machinery is run and maintained.

Cyber-Physical systems are of interest to many sectors, such as self-driving cars, industry 4.0, smart grids, medicine, or consumer products. They are developed using expertise in sensors, actuators, energy harvesting, low-consumption communication, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and manufacturing processes.

Platform teams offer advanced skills on each of these subjects and have access to world-class equipment. Their support to industrial partners ranges from defining specifications to approving processes, until on-site start of production.

They co-develop breakthrough solutions involving data capture, energy harvesting, telecoms, data security, or final system costs.

What expertise do industrial partners receive?

• Cleanroom technologies for sensors and actuators (pumps, switches, optronic devices, etc.)
• Highly sensitive quantum sensors
• Microsystems for energy harvesting
• Modeling cyber-physical and digital twin systems
• Communication networks
• In-memory low-power computing

Cutting edge equipment

• Anechoic chambers (100 MHz-330 GHz)
• 200 mm MEMS microelectronic production line
• Security benchmarks through observation and fault injections (EM, lasers, power, and side channels) as well as invasive techniques.

How to work with the cyber-physical systems platform?

Platform teams are working with industrial partners of all sizes –major groups, small and medium-sized companies, startups – via bilateral R&D agreements and shared laboratories. With collaborative contracts, an intellectual property agreement regarding results is signed before work starts. The platform has a dozen industrial partners across a range of sectors such as products and systems for electrical installations and networks, electrical distribution, pyrotechnics, civil engineering, home and garden equipment, connected health. Among them are: Sanofi, Solem, Bubendorff, Colas, Davey Bickford, Diabeloop, Enerbee, Legrand, RTE, etc.
