Targeted Applications Include High-Dimensional Distributed Environmental Monitoring, Implantable Medical-Diagnostic Microchips, Wearable Electronics & Human/Computer Interfaces
GRENOBLE, France – April 13, 2021 – A team of French and Swiss scientists has demonstrated a lensless imaging technique that could easily be implemented in cost-effective and compact devices in phage laboratories to accelerate phage-therapy diagnosis.
Cyclists who love the "fixie" (a fixed-gear city bike with no mudguards) could soon enjoy the comfort of a streamlined and quiet electric start-assist motor. CEA-Leti invented and patented elementary motor components that can be adapted in terms of size, number, and arrangement to suit the target application.
The CEA, Grenoble Alpes University Hospital, Grenoble Alpes University and Boston Scientific Corporation, a leading company in medical devices, have started on the Near Infra Red (NIR) project clinical trial in March 2021.
CEA-Leti, a CEA Tech institute, is part of a consortium led by Sequans that is gearing up to deploy 5G for critical IoT applications requiring reliable, low-latency communications.
Imaging has already been revolutionizing medical diagnosis for over four decades. CEA-Leti, which produced and installed the first French scanner in 1976, has been working tirelessly to develop equipment offering increasingly advanced performances.
The EU H2020 Hilico project, which CEA Tech institute CEA-Leti is coordinating, will result in the development of a GaN color microdisplay that delivers excellent resolution and very high brightness.
CEA-Leti is engaged in the EIT Exuchek project, which addresses this issue. The institute is developing a comprehensive CAL monitoring system that will include a device that can be integrated into the surgical drain, an algorithm to trigger alerts at certain thresholds, and a user interface for caregivers.
Kalray, a CEA-Leti spinoff founded in 2008 and publicly traded since 2018, recently raised €5.2 million in fresh capital. The company, which designs multicore, massively parallel microprocessors has now raised a total of €97 million.
The French government announced it has selected the iMRC cybersecurity project to receive funding under the nation’s economic stimulus program. The project aims to improve the cybersecurity of IoT devices whose vulnerabilities could jeopardize network security.
GRENOBLE, France – March 18, 2021 – CEA-Leti scientists have developed a lensless, infrared spectral-imaging system for medical diagnostics. The first application is cancer detection in the tissue section and the second is the identification and discrimination of microorganisms, such as bacteria. Presented in two papers at the Photonics West 2021 Digital Forum, the label-free technology also could eliminate sample preparation in a reliable and user-friendly device that may foretoken automation of some diagnostics.
The ASCENT+ access programme launches a new phase to become the powerhouse of researchers and innovators in nanoelectronics in Europe
GRENOBLE, France – March 11, 2021 – Expanding on its previous advances in integrated optics and silicon photonics, CEA-Leti presented four related papers at Photonics West 2021 Digital Forum that show key steps toward improved AR capabilities with retinal projection.
GRENOBLE, France – March 8, 2021 – Taking a critical step toward developing LiDAR systems for widespread commercial applications, CEA-Leti has developed genetic algorithms to calibrate high-channel-count optical phased arrays (OPAs), as well as an advanced measurement setup enabling wafer-scale OPA characterization.
GRENOBLE, France – March 2, 2021 – CEA-Leti, a technology research institute of CEA Tech, will present 14 papers during Photonics West 2021, March 6-11, including an invited paper, "Advanced roughness characterization for 300mm Si photonics patterning & optimization".
Collecting contaminants spread over large areas is a problem for which there is currently no ideal solution. CEA-Leti, a CEA Tech institute, recently developed a tool capable of rapidly collecting and analyzing surface contaminants of a biological or chemical nature.
Blockchain, best-known for its use in cryptocurrency, is garnering interest from industrial companies. And CEA-Leti is currently very active on the topic, with IRT Nanoelec and EU projects in progres
NEW-6G Initiative Will ‘Rethink’ Nanotech, Draw Roadmaps, Encourage Cooperation And Foster the Emergence of Innovative Ideas for Future 6G Technologies
GRENOBLE, France – Feb. 22, 2021 – CEA-Leti and Dolphin Design have developed an adaptive back-biasing (ABB) architecture for FD-SOI chips that can be seamlessly integrated in the digital design flow with industrial-grade qualification, overcoming integration drawbacks of existing ABB techniques.
GRENOBLE, France – Feb 9th, 2021 – CEA-Leti today announced a visionary EU 6G research project for next-generation wireless connectivity. Called RISE-6G, it will design, prototype and test smart and energy-sustainable technological advances based on reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) that will enable programmable control and shaping of the wireless propagation environment.
